This t-shirt highlights 4 generations of an Atlantic spotted dolphin family observed by the Wild Dolphin Project. Dr. Herzing first observed Nippy back in 1985 when the project started. Nippy's daughter, Nassau, was observed in 1989. Being a great mother, Nassau has given birth to many offspring. One of those offspring, Nereide, was first observed in 2009 and now has a calf of her own, a curious and playful female we have named Nesta. Your support helps us continue long-term non-invasive research on dolphins in the wild studying them "In Their World...On Their Terms." Hopefully we can watch Nesta grow up and have a calf of her own, continuing Nippy's family line.

In 1992, both Nippy and Nassau were featured on the cover of National Geographic Magazine. Photographer Brian Skerry joined us in 2013 for an expedition to find and photograph Nassau as an adult for a story he was working on about dolphin intelligence. He spotted the “Afghan Girl” dolphin.
